D-Link Buzz Episode 67 on 10/1/2009
by Esther Navaja
Hi guys! Welcome to another episode of the Buzz. I'm Esther Navaja.

And I'm Roger Nevarez and we're here to keep you updated on everything D-Link.

Let's dive right into the news. Ovum consulting firm has reported that mobile broadband in emerging markets isn't the same as what we see in mature markets.

That's true that's very true. Operators are focusing more on the web access service rather than the technology or device due to the cost involved in launching and running mobile broadband services.

But for mobile broadband to truly succeed, it needs government support. Governments hold the keys to unlock several stimuli for deployment and uptake. An analyst from Ovum has said that, "Reducing taxes in telecoms services, encouraging competition and boosting investments in power supply and international connectivity could all result in lower prices for end users."

And if you choose to go the route of mobile broadband technology for your small business, D-Link has a great selection of 3G mobile routers to help you get started like our DIR-450 3G Mobile Router for EV-DO (Evolution Data Only) Networks.

But mobile broadband isn't the only way to connect to high-speed internet. Fibre-Optic is an evolving technology and Rwanda is the latest country to take advantage of it.

The capital of Rwanda, Kigali, is expected to be connected to undersea cables in Kenya by November. A Fibre-Optics ring is said to go online as early 2010 providing high-speed internet for East Africa.

The link will transform Rwanda from an impoverished, agricultural society to a high-tech innovator.

And with the fast speeds of Fibre-Optics, our friends in East Africa are going to need a fast connection to the internet. Fast speeds that can be obtained through D-Link's Xtreme N Family of products.

All right guys, that's going to do it for this episode of The Buzz. I'm Esther Navaja.

And I'm Roger Nevarez. And make sure and catch us next week.
